Deux des meilleurs joueurs Français participeront au championnat d’Europe des Entreprises 2025 : les Grands Maîtres Marc’Andria Maurizzi et Laurent Fressinet, chacun dans une équipe différente.
Two of France’s best players will participate in the 2025 European Corporate Chess Championship : Grand Masters Marc’Andria Maurizzi and Laurent Fressinet, each in a different team.
Marc’Andria Maurizzi (18 ans) : À 18ans, Marc’Andria Maurizzi possède déjà un palmarès bien étoffé ! Détenteur d’un titre de champoion d’Europe Jeunes en U10 (2017), le jeune Corse va enrichir avec éclat son palmarès. Jugez vous-même ! Champion de France Jeunes 2019 en U12, il obtient cette même année une nouvelle médaille d’or au championnat d’Europe Jeunes en U12. Et surtout il acquiert le titre de Maître International à 12 ans et 2 mois ! Les années suivantes, il poursuit sa brillante progression , récompensée en 2021 par le titre de Grand Maître International à l’âge de 14 ans et 5 jours, devanant ainsi le plus jeune Grand Maître de l’Histoire des Échecs français ! En 2023, le voici à nouveau sur la première marche du podium, celle du championnat du Monde Junior qu’il remporte à seulement 16 ans.
Le 24 août 2025, lors du championnat de France, il s’impose face à Laurent Fressinet dans les matchs de départage et devient le 97e champion de France.
At 18 years old, Marc’Andria Maurizzi already has a well-rounded track record! Holder of a European Youth Championship title in the U10 category (2017), the young Corsican is set to add another impressive achievement to his list of accomplishments. Judge for yourself! French Youth Champion in 2019 in the U12 category, he won another gold medal at the European Youth Championship in the U12 category that same year. And above all, he earned the title of International Master at the age of 12 years and 2 months! In the following years, he continued his brilliant progress, rewarded in 2021 with the title of International Grandmaster at the age of 14 years and 5 days, thus surpassing the youngest Grandmaster in the history of French chess! In 2023, he was once again on the top step of the podium, winning the World Junior Championship at only 16 years old.
On 24 August 2025, during the French Championship, he defeated Laurent Fressinet in the tiebreaks and became the 97th French champion.
Laurent Fressinet (42 ans) : Quatre titres de champions de France jeunes et 2 titres de vice-champions du monde (U14, U16), Laurent opte très tôt pour une carrière professionnelle. Grand Maître International en 2000 à 19 ans, il poursuit sa progression qui lui vaudra de figurer au top 50 mondial de nombreuses années. Double champion de France (2010, 2014) et vice-champion d’Europe 2012, il est le pilier de l’équipe de France. Ses qualités échiquéennes et humaines lui vaudront d’être le secondant du champion du Monde Magnus Carlsen de 2013 à 2022 (année au cours de laquelle Carlsen a mis fin à sa carrière échiquéenne). Laurent est le seul entraîneur du champion du monde à avoir été présent lors des 5 championnats du monde disputés par ce dernier.
Four titles of young French champions and two titles of world vice-champions (U14, U16) to his credit, Laurent opted very early for a professional career. Grand Master International in 2000 at 19 years old, he continues his progression which will earn him to be in the top 50 world for many years. Twice French champion (2010, 2014) and 2012 European vice-champion, he is the pillar of the French team. His chess and human qualities earned him to be the second of World Champion Magnus Carlsen from 2013 to 2022 (the year in which Carlsen ended his chess career). Laurent is the sole coach who has been present at all 5 world championships played by the world champion.
